sweets (+ some savories)

ah, sugar. the best, most addictive substance on the planet. for something so good, it's surprisingly hated (by doctors, dentists, parents, etc.), but who cares what they think? all we know is that this stuff will get you hooked with a single, almost intoxicating bite, and we don't have a problem with that. (and ironic, isn’t it? the sweet shop selling savory items. we know. but what could we do when we bought our domain name before perfecting our bread recipes? oh well, get over the irony and get down with some not-so-sweet treats.)

oatmeal currant-date cookies

these are NOT the nasty oatmeal raisin cookies that people thought of as health food, or avoided at parties, or only took in the cafeteria because they were out of chocolate chip cookies and then picked out the raisins. these are thick, chewy, have layers of sweetness from raisins paired with caramel-like dates, and will make you question if you're actually eating an oatmeal raisin cookie. you are, and they're just that good. 6 huge cookies. $34

snickerdoodlesbetter copy.jpg

snickerdoodles

these poor cookies. what kind of name is snickerdoodle? it's snicker-worthy (see what we did there?), that's for sure, and does this ethereal cookie no justice. it's supposedly german, with the only sensical translation being a buttery, thick, and cinnamony sweet cookie that makes your heart melt with a single bite. about 14 large cookies. $30

shortbread copy.jpg

shortbread

there are usually two different perspectives on shortbread. you either love it (maybe it was always at your grandmother's house or at holiday celebrations or in that cute little tin with the dog on it) or hate it (we admit that we initially felt this way). this shortbread changed that. it’s not too sweet, but just enough, and has an ethereal crispness and lightness that makes it melt in your mouth. shortbread haters, these are for you. about 40 cookies. $33

brown butter coconut cookies

if you don’t like coconut, we’re deeply sorry for you. these cookies are made with copious amounts of coconut and a bit of cookie dough, which is the only proper ratio. if you couldn’t tell from the name, they’re made with browned butter, massive shavings of coconut, and a generous pinch of salt for balance. the coconut is tender and chewy and the cookie itself melts in your mouth. we may just convert you to coconutism with these. 6 huge cookies. $34

peanut butter cookies

peanut butter cookies. they're usually sad and dry (sorry to all the grandmas out there), but you eat them anyway, because peanut butter. but these are light, soft, crazy thick, and exactly what peanut butter cookies should be. chocolate chips, although unnecessary, make these cookies even more decadent. still think the bricks on your counter are as good as it gets? try these and rethink your cookie beliefs. 6 huge cookies. $32 for classic, $34 for chocolate chip

challah babka

given the newfound popularity of babka, as well as challah, both traditionally jewish breads, you would have had to be living under a rock to not know what they are. however, we will cater to your potential ignorance and say that this bread, a glorious hybrid of two already delectable breads, is a tender and light bread with a dark and sweet chocolate filling. one large round or 8 babka buns. $36

pecan caramel buns

these are your traditional pecan sticky buns, made infinitely better. fluffy, tender challah is double swirled with lots of cinnamon butter and pecans cooked in a brown butter brown sugar caramel, then covered in more caramel. 8 large buns. $38

carrot cake buns

this counts as a serving of vegetables, right? because carrots? either way, you’ll be eating more than one. how could you not? the buns are made of our tender challah, double swirled with cinnamon butter and deeply spiced, caramelized carrots, then topped with thick and creamy cream cheese frosting. 8 large buns. $36

cinnamonchallahbuns.jpg

cinnamon buns

these cinnamon buns are pure magic. they have a tantalizing aroma and a buttery, cinnamon spice flavor paired with a melt-in-your-mouth texture that makes people drool from miles away. and yes, you could source your joy from cinnabon, a premade box of cinnamon rolls, or even a can, but why would you when these rolls of heaven exist? and a side note: think no icing is absolute blasphemy? only when the rolls are in dire need of it. 8 large buns. $36

blueberryscones.JPEG

blueberry scones

these are american scones, and in traditional american style, they contain more butter, more sugar, and more flavors than their british counterpart, making them more suitable for a ravenous brunch than a dainty teatime. that is not to say that they are greasy or sugary, though; they are the exact opposite, flaky, lightly sweet, slightly crunchy when freshly baked, and bursting with blueberries. we know from many, many experiences that these never last for leftovers, so take from that what you should. 8 scones. $32

applecake.jpg

apple cake

to be quite honest, we’re not big cake people, which is why our undying adoration for this cake is somewhat unexpected. but maybe it’s because this cake is a transcendent mash-up of apple pie and pound cake, having almost more apple than cake, an intoxicating aroma, and a lightly spiced yet full and sweet flavor, which more than compensates for it being less than photogenic. one thick 8x8 cake. $28

tomatofocaccia copy2.jpg

caramelized tomato focaccia

tomatoes and bread are a classic combination, but it usually falls prey to general laziness, also known as putting raw tomatoes on top of bread before it’s baked, which is fine…but not jaw-dropping amazing. and there’s the problem-tomato focaccia should be magical, which is why we took our classic focaccia and filled it with a slow-cooked tomato paste that’s full of garlic and blistered whole cherry tomatoes, giving a punch of complex tomato flavor to the bread. finally, a tomato focaccia worthy of our desires. one 9 inch round. $11

garlicbuttercheesefocaccia.jpg

garlic butter + cheese focaccia

this bread is pretty self-explanatory (but we will elaborate anyway). we filled our classic thick focaccia with a compound butter of slow-roasted garlic and sharp black pepper, then further stuffed it with nutty parmesan and creamy mozzarella. cheesy, garlicky, salty, soft, and tender with a slight crunch, it’s the garlic bread of your dreams, made even better to promote happy carb comas. one thick 9 inch round. $11

on batch sizes:

we are generous with our batch sizes because we’ve learned that, in order to have enough for other people to eat (because apparently sharing is considerate), there needs to be more than you will want to eat, which is inevitably most of the order. if there ends up being leftovers after sharing, which seems impossible but could somehow occur, all the cookies can be frozen, as can the original challah and focaccia. however, if, for some crazy reason, the batch size is too large for you, let us know in your order and request a half batch. we will do our best to accommodate your request, but if we can’t, you can just cancel that portion of your order. but really, what’s the harm in having lots of good food? extras just mean more for you.
